In Situ Archaeological Consulting, LLC is a minority-owned, small business cultural resource consulting company that specializes in archaeological surveys and artifact analysis.

Our mission is to provide our clients with quality archaeological consultation to facilitate success in their undertakings. Our client’s interests are our top priority. Our staff has the knowledge and experience needed to help reach the client’s goals. Our specialists will work with you to assess the distinctive conditions of your project and make recommendations to ensure compliance and minimize unnecessary costs and lost time. Staff

In Situ was started in 2015 by owners Abraham Ledezma, Craig Picka, and former owner Daniel Salas. Abraham and Craig meet the requirements for the Secretary of the Interior’s Guidelines for Professional Qualifications in Archaeology. We are qualified to conduct archaeological investigations in several states, including but not limited to Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Missouri, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio.

In Situ Archaeological Consulting, LLC’s staff have collectively completed reports in Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

In Situ Archaeological Consulting, LLC has liability and workers comp insurance and can manage multiple projects. Staff members include academically qualified individuals that are capable of performing field investigations as well as editing reports, curation of artifacts, and office management. Collectively, our staff has completed over 1,000 projects ranging from small facilities and well pads to large multi-state linear surveys.

Field Crew

The field crew is made up of staff and seasonal employees hired on a per-project basis. All members of the field crew have completed an archaeological field school and have experience in the cultural resource management field.
